It's Me, Hi!

Wow, where to start? I guess first off, thank you for coming on this adventure with Amy and me. I’m sure most of the people checking this out are our family and friends who we’ve asked to listen to our podcast. But hopefully, as time goes on we’ll pick up a few new friends along the way. At this point I feel like we’ve given a pretty good overview of how we’ve gotten here… but if you’re not caught up on our story, please go check out Generation Living on your favorite podcast streaming platform.

As we jump into this, not knowing what we’re doing, I’m anxious to see where this takes us. Not necessarily the podcast, although I think it is a lot of fun to sit in front of a microphone and talk about what we’re up to, but the actual process of making multigenerational living work for us. I love to talk about what it would be like to get a great big house and fill it full of family, and we have done that plenty of times over the years. But it’s just now that we said, let’s stop talking about it and see if we can make it happen!

I have to admit taking these first few steps has been a little overwhelming. We are no longer in the “dreaming about it” stage, and have moved on to what it’s really going to take. From reading about how other people have done this, to talking to contractors, realtors, and bankers… we are discovering very quickly that we have a lot to learn!

I know that we will hit bumps along the way, and all of us are not going to agree on everything… but isn’t that how families normally work? Why not come along with us as we discover what it takes to turn our dream into a reality? And how much more rewarding will it be when we finally do move into one big house, with lots of people, and can say that we worked together to make it happen!
